It was incredibly difficult to get an appointment. I am diabetic but I just wanted an eye test, not the retinopathy screening. The first time tried the appointments number, I was told they couldnt make an appointment, I had to speak with the department staff. The next time I tried, I couldn't get an appointment on my preferred days of the week (Thursday or Friday), no matter how far into the future the clerk looked.
When I turned up for the appointment I did arrange, I was told it had been cancelled. I'd had to take a day off work to attend, so they managed to fit me in at a later time.
While I was waiting, I saw and heard several other customers arriving for appointments only to be told that they were not booked in.
The optician that assisted in the Market Street Practice was Gemma.
She was very friendly and knowledgeable and I was very impressed with her helpful attitude.
Rujina was very professional, friendly and informative, she has an excellent manner, as did the other lady who did the initial checks. A credit to your organisation.
I attended or diabetic retinopathy examination as well as the regular sight test. Tests were comprehensive and never felt rushed. What was happening and why was always explained in a professional but friendly way. No attempt to sell me new glasses I don't need was made and I felt involved and informed throughout. Abi the optometrist and colleagues should be congratulated on delivering that quality of service in a busy environment.
Thanks to Stephen for the advice and thorough testing
