Generally the appointment was conducted in a courteous, professional and efficient manner. My options were clearly explained at each stage of the process. I am reasonably happy with the new spectacles (and lenses) that are now on order. My one slight criticism is that, having recently developed floaters in my right eye, and having taken care to mention them at my appointment at more than one stage, there was no real interest in discussing any possible means of minimising them. They may have been right to say that nothing much can be done, but that didn't entirely tally with what I'd read. I am content for now to put up with my floaters with only the most minor of adjustments, but it may be an issue I wish to return to in future. Note: I am well aware that no officially sanctioned procedure exists for floaters. I also wish to add, to be fair, that the optometrist did take photocopies of the results of the eye examinations I underwent at Moorfields Eye Hospital shortly after my floaters first appeared, when there was a concern that I may have a detached retina. I do have an ongoing concern over what options are open to me if my floaters ever get worse - but that is probably an issue for the specialists at Moorfields or an equivalent.
