I made an appointment initially via the call centre which I could not subsequently keep so (in advance) I telephoned the Boots Optician direct at Bishopsgate and rearranged the appointment. When I arrived the girl who served me told me she had no record of my appointment and when I told her the appointment had been confirmed she didn't seem to believe me (I then found the text message confirming that appointment which I showed her). She did not apologise and then kept me waiting for quite some time whilst she was doing stuff on the computer, before I got irritated and said I need to go back to work (Bishopsgate is an eighteen minute walk from my office both ways plus the good twenty minutes I was in the branch - total waste of lunch break!). I did eventually get another appointment and went back to the branch and received very good service although the process involved puffing of air into my eye and bright light flashing directly close up into my eye which I think you should warn customers of as it was a surprise and I was told to try and keep my eye open when the puff of air was going directly into my eye (how anyone can do that I have no idea as human reaction is to close one's eye if a sudden puff of air is aimed directly towards your eye at close proximity!!). The lady who was showing me the choice of glasses and lenses was however excellent and I would give her ten out of ten, as was the lady who adjusted my glasses when I came and picked them up and both of them should be commended for their excellent customer services skills (especially the first one). Regards Jan Kisseih
