All the staff are cheerful and friendly. Ellie was wonderful, and took time to help me choose frames and was very thorough in her ordering. I felt relaxed and comfortable, there was no sense of conveyor belt rushing and frenzy that I have come across in other opticians when accompanying other people. Whichever optometrist I have had over the years at Boots Isle of Man, they have all been excellent. On this occasion it was Catherine and she was friendly and professional, and took the time to explain and answer my questions.

Excellent appointment, from the greeting to the short wait (I was early) , everything covered without being overawing . Clear Questions asked of me, in an easy way, not technical . Options discussed and 2 different manufacturer products offered to try. Did not feel rushed, or pressured . Catherine Craine, a fabulous fresh new addition to the team, and an asset to the practice.

I moved to Boots to follow Catherine who has looked after me well for many years. My visit was very pleasant and all the staff were very caring! Especially Catherine Craine who is outstandingly caring!

There are two sides to the service at Boots opticians, so I found out on my recent visit to Boots in Douglas. (09.05.17). Two weeks earlier I personally called in to Boots to make an appointment specifically with with an named optometrist Sarah Hill as she came highly recommended by my wife. The helpful staff member took the time to show me herself to enter the appointment into Sarah's diary. Brilliant. Now move on to the day of the appointment. I arrived 10 mins early for my appointment. I went through the preliminaries with the floor staff person responsible. He talked too quickly and I was left feeling rushed with little idea as to why or what was being done. A friend sitting alongside said she felt treated exactly the same way. Next at 5 mins past the appointment time an optometrist asked me to follow her up the stairs. Halfway up the stairs I asked her if she was the named optometrist I had my appointment with and her reply was no. If I wished to see her then i had to go back to the waiting area and wait. So I did. 45 minutes later I eventually was seen for my appointment by Sarah. In the time of waiting there was no engagement with me from any staff. Sarah was great, very diligent, helpful and kept me fully relaxed and informed. Felt valued as an individual and not just another client. However once out of the consulting room it was back to the well-practiced customer service patter to get me to select new frames and lenses from the guy who had done the prelims with me before seeing the optometrist. Unfortunately he had to repeat one of the tests again for the optometrist as it had not been too successful the first time round. I eventually left Boots opticians over one and a half hours later from my arrival. A whole lunch hour and flexi-time blown away by poor management of clients expectations.
