Stephen showed empathy and care whilst remaining professional. This is the kind of human aspect you need when you are in hospital. Thanks

Hi, I gave my name to a couple of people the other day for a patient to nurse review so my apologies for the somewhat impersonal "Hi" as you did not leave your name, which is fine for this review. I was beginning to despair as so far I got no response , but I was pleasantly surprised this evening when I saw this review. Every 3 years us nurses have to put together a portfolio of different things , ongoing training , reviews and other notes etc which is then checked and discussed by a senior and then that senior submits to the nursing council that he/she has complied with their regulations . Hence that nurse in question can then continue to work as a nurse. I have left it rather late in getting my portfolio together , so your review has been very helpful . Finally I hope if you are a patient or a relative of a patient, that at this point in time you or your relative are now well and no longer in hospital. Many thanks again...............Stephen Brennan

Having spent 12 hours and more at the hospital I realised how long and tiring it can be for nurses. I saw Stephen working tirelessly the long shift and on top of that, towards the end of his shift he gave my 85 year old dad a thorough shower, giving him a good rub! And after that, finished off other tasks before completing a hard day’s work. Still as energetic, friendly and approachable as I saw him at the beginning of the shift. Dad looked fresh, comfortable and comfortably tucked in. Although dad has dementia he remembered. The moment he saw me he told me about how with great care Stephen gave him a (thorough) shower and that nice people exist! Later again, as he drifted into sleep he spoke about the quality of care he has received. I am as touched as my dad. So thank you Stephen from me and my dad. We wish you all the best! Abida

Hello Abida, many thanks for your great review. I could not go home and leave your Dad lying there with his T shirt etc and bed linen, that he had been in for 24 hours, especially so as he is so frail . I got him to walk back to the bed with his stick as I figured it would be a good excercise for him after being in bed so long. I am really glad he enjoyed the shower as I was a bit hesitant about putting him through all the effort of getting him out of bed etc. Also thanks for you being there, giving his medications , and helping him with his food , you helped both of us......Take care ....Stephen

Mr Brennan helped me in the waiting room, but checking I had tea/coffee/biscuits and moving my IV bag for convenience. I feel he did more than would be asked of someone, I would recommend him to anyone.
