Following surgery for a left total knee replacement implant in November 2021, I received excellent and comprehensive care from the Senior Physiotherapist [name removed] and the Technical Instructor [name removed]. The exercise programmes to be followed at home and reviewed regularly in the Physio Department were carefully devised and monitored to ensure I fully benefited from the operation and practised the exercises appropriately. As my physical strength and flexibility improved, my exercise programmes were regularly updated to ensure more challenging exercises could be practised making use of coloured rubber bands. Although the surgery was seven months ago, I recognise that many of the exercise programmes will need to be regularly practised to maintain flexibility.

I was surprised that the senior physiotherapist was not provided with any details regarding my operation other than knowing it was a left total knee replacement. When initial discussions took place a month after my surgery, I made sure that I passed on the details stated on the Discharge Summary from the Royal Berks. Hospital. I also passed on details of other associated reports received relating to the surgery.

Could prove tricky to book sessions around my working hours, therefore long gaps sometimes between face to face sessions.
