The existance of the EMU at Witney is a great addition to the medical services in Oxfordshire. I would probably have ended up at the JR if the EMU was not there.
The Unit was very efficient and the attention and care was first class.
The link-up with Hospital at Home completed the service.
The whole package is very patient-friendly and must save costs for the NHS by keeping patients out of hospital

Professionalism with great kindness. Encouragement and optimism from both nursing and HCA staff. Plenty of empathy and willingness to listen. Never forgetting personal dignity. Doctors sensible and friendly and informative. Therapists innovative, firm but thoughtful.
Big change I would like to make however, is to include the patient (those who wish and are mentally capable) in the care plan recording and planning should be open be open to the patient which will thereby assist his/her own recovery. No secret records.

Staff members have been very supportive.

All staff were extremely efficient, caring and kind. Our sister was treated very gently, with total respect. We were seen quickly and informed throughout of what was happening and what would happen. A very dedicated, professional team..to be proud of! (P.S blood was taken even our sister who is terrified and anxious said it was good!).

Everyone helpful and kind. I felt I received an exceptionally high level of care. The staff were all amazing.
The only improvement from my point of view would be opening at weekends because I have to transfer to Abingdon and the weekend.
