On the 10-04-2018 I had as a day patient key hole surgery to remove my Gall Bladder at the plane unit whipps X hospital prior to this I was assessed at the Willows centre and also had a ct scan at whipps of my lower abdomen involving dye injection to highlight blood vessels .My initial involvement with Whipps was going to A@E in November with chest pains which turned out to be pancrease nd liver problems -I was admitted for 4 days -1in ICU treated with anti biotics /fluids and given scans which showed a poor gall bladder but no stones. At the time I had a catheter as I was awaiting diagnosis and treatment at a private hospital for an enlarged prostate -this was operated on and was not a problem when I had day surgery. My experience of A&E -the Willows and Plane could not have been better.Staff were freindly and compassionate always keeping me fully informed and open to questions which they patiently and fully answered .I had to postpone the surgery for a time because of recovery needed for the prostate operation -it was an open removal and there were complications the delay was handled well by administrative and medical staff. The operation and recovery arrangements were excellent ,I was aware and reassured observing the thorough organisation in play.I am sore now but my full recovery seems in hand and if problems arise I was fully informed of actions to take for further treatment .So my point of view is well done Whipps -pity about the parking (which can be the major challenge of ones visit)and that not all your wards are as modern as Icu -Poplar -Plane and the Willows hopefully this will improve -surely there is enough equity in old unused buildings to fund building new?
