The nursing staff were charming and efficient My wife was able to contact Dr Khan when she needed to speak with him and was also able to talk to me on the telephone which the nurses always answered promptly

I did not see Mr Nick Little, but Miss Vishalli Ghai for a hysterectomy procedure. There seemed a lot of confusion about which ward I was to be on before the day. When we arrived at 7am on the day, there was no room ready for me on the Northey Suite so I was put in a random room on floor 2. So no chance to unpack and get organised in my room before my operation. After I returned from my operation, I was put in a room in Northey Suite. I was not sure at a y point what bits were nhs or private. I seemed to be having the same menu as everyone else whichever seemed NHS style food. The nursing and care staff were very good, but again I am under the impression that they were NHS not private ward specific. I understand there are a lot of changes currently happening to the ward areas within the hospital. However, at no point when receiving my quote and booking was it explained that things were not quite running as a normal private ward. While I am mostly happy with the facilities and care etc, it created a lot of confusion for the staff and especially myself during what was already a stressful time with having an operation. More accurate information before arriving and a clearer definition of what I was going to receive would have been good.

Very, very friendly staff and nurse is very helpful. Everything that was done in the hospital was great. Only problem that Mum found was the food was a bit big and sometimes a bit dry but we know that’s an issue due to not having a private shift anymore other than that, everything was great, thank you.

My consultant was Nigel Day. My only query was no one really looked at my wound/healing area. I was surprised by this. Nigel was super friendly and relaxed. The biggest issue I had was the food was awful (unlike anything I have had privately before). The worst thing was being placed next to a seriously ill, delirious patient called John. Whilst I was there, security were called three times, he bit through two drips, hit two staff and I had to send my family home because of the violence. I shoukd have been moved. There were many empty bays and beds. For someone less robust this would have been a nightmare.
