Epsom General Hospital CSH Surrey

This is my local hospital. I get my special shoes from here. The male orthopedist is willing to answer all of my questions and make himself useful as well. He is pretty smart as well. Recommended by a local patient. I have been here many times over the years too. One suggestion there could be toys for babies and kids however. And games in case of boredom.

I have severe arthritis in the hands, nothing today really helped me. i just need suitable pain relief. None of that appears available. I take Naproxin which does help a bit but need something stronger. After today I realise that I will just have to live with the condition as best as I can. The other ladies at the session had arthritis nowhere need as bad as mine. As usual staff were really very nice and helpful. Epsom is a very good hospital but am afraid my condition is really beyond help.

Firstly I mislaid the card with code details so apologies for delay. My last appointment was hand therapist Erin Cunningham on 5 April 2019. She was very professional and friendly, she took the time to explain and demonstrate exercises over the few months I attended the clinic. I did not ever feel rushed or hurried along I was given good, kindly attentive and expert care. The other therapists were also courteous helpful and friendly. I am quite nervous about attending hospitals and was instantly put at ease. I must also say the same with all the receptionist staff I dealt with over phone and face to face when booking the appointments. I had a very positive experience in my dealings with the Therapies and Orthotics Dept. I am on the road to full recovery. Thank you for all for your help. Mrs Seaton

The initial assessment was quick and the treatment/exercises given were clear and easy to follow. It was nice to discuss any progress/problems at the follow up reviews and the time slots for each appointment was adequate and did not feel rushed. Very friendly and professional staff.

I was treated with utmost kindness by the staff and received the best care which exceeded all expectations. A big thank you for the wonderful service received.

A recurring theme since I started treatment is that the hand therapy could/would have been significantly more effective if only I had been referred earlier.

I received the up most care & attention, during my appointment for Hand Therapy! Isobel (physiotherapist) especially, with her pleasant knowledge & academic professional manner towards the group! Along side with Annabelle whom assisted her. They both will be an asset to this new Group Therapy sessions!

Unrelated to my referral, but causing me great problems, I was advised about getting a bed lever to enable me to safely get in and out of bed. I was able to get one easily and has proven to be an amazing benefit. I really wish this had been recommended last year when I first had my accident and a home assessment was carried out by the OT team. Thank you hand therapists.

I had surgery on my hand and I found the whole process was excellent from starting with the doctor who examined my hand and made the diagnosis through to the operation and aftercare, especially the hand therapist Bettine (OT) who explained things very well, and answered all my questions and concerns.
