I am a 72 year old active retired Soldier. I have had a retinal "tear" problem since end of May 2018. Following a surprise diagnosis during a routine Opticians appointment I was referred for treatment to the Ophthamology Department at the Sussex Eye Hospital. My first impression was a rather tired "unrestored/dingy " building off the Eastern Road opposite the Brighton and Sussex main hospital building.( presently undergoing an extensive rebuild.) Following attendance at the Ophthalmic A/E department I was seen and quickly referred to Mr Robert Purbrick (Ophthalmology Surgeon). Within 10 days I had been treated and discharged. Excellent care and treatment. NHS at its best. Many thanks from an extremely grateful patient.
