I am the mother of the patient who was unable to speak. The care she received was second to none. Also the care and kindness to other family members.

Although I had telephone counselling and so can't comment on location or staff, I have no reason to think that my answers would be any different.

Very supportive and helpful when my husband needed outside interversion.

Suggested improvements
This form is really for in patients- my husband used single point so I can only answer some questions and from a carers perspective.

My mum and dad sadly died a few days apart- an unexpected event for us all they both had covid which had great impact on us all we witnessed first hand the precautions of staff wearing PPE we could not have understood the great care, and of all staff we met I cannot say thank you enough for their compassion.

Suggested improvements
How can you do better- I think caring for dying people and supporting their families is an exceptionally difficult job. Add covid to that and I am sure you all understand how vital you were is to a community at this difficult time.

The people involved was a great help and listened to what was said.

Suggested improvements
In my opinion the all number in each groups means everyone can take their call. Sometimes one person lays to take up all the time.

Review of Bereavement written by
26th December 2020

Because of my varied bereavement situation, ie my husband, close sister in law, a very dear auntie, my elder brother and my younger brother becoming suddenly unwell, I was offered in excess of ten months counselling, with a gradual easing back until I was ready to allow myself to stop and my counsellor felt I was ready too. I was assured if I needed further sessions to give the hospice a call.

Suggested improvements
The service could not have been better, I felt it was an excellent service and at all times I was very well supported, with no rush to end my sessions. My family wants to give them praise too. I'm fully aware it's a stretched much needed service. A big thank you.
