Review of Bereavement written by a patient

Everything was good about my care. From my first phone call and meeting with my counsellor. I was never rushed. I was accommodated with my needs and very understanding when I could not make a session due to my condition.

Lillian allowed me to talk things through and helped me to regain my confidence. She gave me strategies to cope with difficult situations. She enabled me to make decisions and feel more in control of my feelings and able to cope better with day to day life.

Mother's care was excellent. Everyone that came round was friendly, polite, helpful and could not do enough for mum. Ross who came round was lovely, very good at his job. He even went to Clacton hospital to visit my mum (the patient) which I though was lovely of him.

Without my 101 sessions with Wendy I really don't know how I could have dealt with my grief. Wendy has been amazing and has helped me deal with situation. Thank you so much!

I cannot fault the support Ross is providing my mother and the emotional support we as a family receive when he visits or by telephone.

To have somebody outside family and friends to talk to and to be given sympathy and support.

I would just like to say that the care my father received was the best we could have wished for. It made his last few weeks with us much more easier to cope and the staff that came were all so kind and helpful to all the family, when things got a bit much. Our Macmillan nurse was at the end of phone, or come to visit. Thank you.

My care was great I don't think there is anything that needs to be improved. I don't know what I would have done without Alpin, he made me see that life is worth carrying on. After my parents died. Cannot thank him enough.

My husband the patient had kidney cancer. The nurses from St Helena Hospice were our guardian angels in our hour of need and could not have shown more care and compassion. We have always been a family to show and discuss our hopes and fears and through it all we did just that and listened to one another including of course my late beloved husband and he was able to slip away peacefully at home with us all by his side. All this with the help of our lovely nurses from St Helena. Thank you all so much.

We were visited by Ross on a number of occasions. He was always honest and provided my wife with excellent care. Ross always appeared to have time for us when he visited. He not only provided care and attention to my wife but was always concerned about me and the whole family. Having single point 24/7 was also real comfort. Thank you.
