Review of Cardiology Outpatients - SBH written by a patient
7th March 2018

Couldn't fault the service and care I received right from the outset. Was seen more or less straight away and experienced very little waiting time at each stage of the process, Everyone (in particular, Patsy, the Nurse, Michael, who did the ECG and finally the Cardiologist, (Dr) Dan Jones) was welcoming, polite and informative. - a very slick operation. Well done all.

Review of Minor Injuries Department - SBH written by a patient
6th March 2018

Susan, the on duty receptionist, was exceptionally kind and helpful. She helped give me information on how to access the wifi on my iPad to complete registration. The on duty nurse, Marianna, was very empathetic and respectful. She quickly diagnosed the problem, discussed possible treatment options with a colleague and gave me important information and practical advice. I was surprised how efficient and friendly the service was. I would absolutely recommend the unit to friends!

Review of Cardiology Outpatients - SBH written by a patient

My ECG & Echo tests ....fine . The consultation was not, the Dr yawned several times during my time with him which was very off putting he could not have been less interested in what I had to say . I travel from Suffolk so a long & costly journey , my main reason for this was to see Prof Elliott I have not seen him for a few yrs now. I would like to be transferred to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmonds. I have several chronic /genetic health issues . I am being treated there so it would make sense to have all my records in one place. If I had a cardiac problem I would be taken there . I did try to contact Linda Prof Elliott’s nurse ...but email came back . I’m not sure who else to contact ....thank you

Review of Cardiac Imaging (MRI & CT) - SBH written by a patient
23rd February 2018

Have suffered cardio problems for some years, with troublesome (to me) ectopics that kick in from time to time. My consultant recommended that I have a CT Angiogram. I was really apprehensive about the overall procedure, particularly as I have a needle phobia and knew I would need a canula procudure to allow tha contrast dye to be injected as part of the CT scan. The staff could not have been more sympatheitc and understanding. Generally the procedure was fine, only had a bit of a problem with the effect the GTN spray, but the staff would not leave me without checking everything was fine without rushing me in any way. The best NHS experience I have had for the care and concern as an outpatient! The area was very clean and the appointment time had no delays.

Review of 3D Ward - SBH written by a patient
20th February 2018

Hello, My procedure ( cardiac catheter ablation) went very well with the exception of a problem with inserting the airway tube down my throat ( slight restriction with my neck shape), this had no lasting effects just some slight bleeding after. The medical staff appeared very caring and made me feel at ease right away . The theatre team appeared very relaxed ,this made me feel assured and confident of the impending procedure. My only criticism was being discharged after G.A without passing water, this caused some major discomfort on the journey home, which resulted in my being catheterised at my local A&E , this put a slant on an otherwise flawless experience.

Didn't do my operation as we discussed, agreed and signed off on the consent form. After the op he stated that he did what he thought was best in the circumstance.
