Considering all that is going on at the moment, I cannot, and never have been able to, criticise or fault the treatment I have received when truly required as an emergency.

The staff on reception and the nurse that booked my daughter (4 years old) in we’re lovely. They were kind and very informative. However when Dr Calin saw us, he made a number of remarks that would scare any child. Also, when my daughter refused to open her mouth for him to check her throat, I tried to talk her round but Dr Calin just got stroppy (for lack of a better word), disposed of the stick and his gloves and said to leave it, whilst flailing his arms in the air. I was not happy with the way he handled a 4 year old’s response to having a stranger shove something in their mouth. If it was anyone else, they would also feel the same way. He was not patient at all with her nor was he very informative. I kept asking him what I had to do to make sure my daughter was feeling better. And when I did, he would seemingly become annoyed by my questions. He then said he can’t say what is wrong but it could be x,y,z which really worried me. But he did nothing to quench those worries. Instead intensified them when I asked that it would all be nothing and just myself overreacting? I was not happy at all with the level of care he provided as my daughter and I waited for 3 hours for this treatment, and in the end she wasn’t treated at all, just because She didn’t ope her mouth for him to inspect her throat. She is still unwell and due to having wasted our time and energy with Dr Calin, I know that next time I will contact 111 directly. At least we will not be treated the way Dr Calin treated us

Suggested improvements
Dr Calin should’ve been more patient with my FOUR year old daughter. He should’ve tried different methods to inspect her throat or done something else to see where the problem lied. He should’ve also been more empathetic and tried to reassure myself and my daughter that they were going to do all they could to help her. He did nothing of the sort nor did he guide me as to what needs to be done. Instead he said to discuss these concerns with the paediatrician the following afternoon as my daughter had an appointment. Only when arriving at said appointment, there were no paediatricians nor was there a note from Dr Calin to say what the matter with my daughter was

The receptionist was very pleasant and the doctor was thorough and informative during my examination and he explained the suggested treatment thoroughly.

Suggested improvements
Updates on expected waiting time whilst in the waiting area would have been been beneficial.

It was very busy but the staff were very good

Suggested improvements
I was not given a discharge letter, but told to talk to a GP asap, but nothing was written on System 1 so when I finally got to talk to the doctor he couldn't do anything. I now face having to have all the blood tests again because my doctor doesn't have the information he needs to treat me.
