I was taken as emergancy from A&E to ward 2 . Ward 2 Staff were very very busy . Care was excellent where i think RAH is let down is by its FOOD from what I saw Lack of. Three meals they ran out stuff before arriving at my bed bay. As a diabetic I depend on my diet for health. I was in with DKA so I was on drips ect. NOise Macerators constant churning Telephone loud ringing during the night General ward noise should fall after 10.30 pm here I’d did not for some reason Ward 10 Diabetic ward first class paitent Centered care . Transfer up after 9pm Staff totally exhausted. I requested a cup tea and bit of toast once All other paients seen to sorry no tea glass water and a small creamed rice. No sandwiches or even a biscuit.given I had no access to anything as it was during covid19 .what I had was what I stood in very little. If I could politely make a suggestion that a bit of thought be made to a loaf or tea biscuit being made available for people such as me new patients. Telephone after 10.30pm be. Reduced to quieter ring Staff use their indoor voices instead of shouting . Everyone of the staff are unsung hero’s but must mention the bank nurses and student nurses. I did not catch the nurse that made me a cup of tea at 3am it was so welcome I can tell you. Food Again in ward 10 seemed to be very scares not enough to do ward No sandwiches No yogurts No fresh fruit . While in ward 2 I did catch sight of a menu nice to look at nothing like true.a four week menu. Can I say I would not usually complain but I feel patients should have a voice . I bet the catering manager would not eat what was dished up on the wards. A review of catering is well overdue. The best is hot choclate with 46grms carbohydrates that should be removed from ward 10 drink trolley. Team work It became very apparent to me that certain members of ward staff I mean established ward staff resented the bank and students. I witnessed a auxiliary start to work with paitent left her for good 45mins a student popped behind screen and saw to the paitent please tell me that’s no right.yes indeed it is . These students and bank staff are going a sterling job. Cleanliness Cannot be faulted . I am happy to take up any matters that catering or ward management wish to discuss
