First time i visited this department MAXILLO-FACIAL SURGER/I heard from a collegue who got treated here it amazing staffs but yesterday I experient it myself. All nurses so polite /caring/helpful.And my doctor SHAH was a gentleman/so caring and listen to all my concern and as i was extremely worried he help to know quick the issues and help me with my health problem.I do treatment to ROYAL LONDON HOSPITALand to KING GEORGE HOSPITALand first time seeing doctor for mY other health problem here in this ward AMAZING CARE THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE even the doctor who done my biopsy was amazing /explained all in details and make me feel comfortable during biopsy.Thank you so much to all to doctor SHAH.
The stroke team were with me before my blood pressure was even taken which was reassuring having had a previous stroke. It’s was so busy in A&E but sandwich and drink were offered
I was brought in by ambulance and had blood tests but then the care ended. I was wheeled to another part of the A and E with no explanation, no idea of wait time. Many others waited on uncomfortable chairs in corridors.
No idea when we would be seen.
It became apparent that department had simply shut down for the night. No one was getting any care, compassion or consideration.
I was feeling too unwell to sit upright in an uncomfortable chair for endless hours as it would only make my condition worse so I took control of my own wellbeing and discharged myself. I saw my own GP the following Monday and she gave me blood results.
Why are there no beds to lay on for sick patients. No privacy. No information.
Staff were all amazing and doing their best in a bad situation.
Hospital is overwhelmed with patients some of which could be health centre/GP sorted but they are probably struggling to get an appointment and put more pressure on A&E
Following a conversation with my IBD, I was told I should be admitted to the gastroenterology ward but would need to go to A&E and they would contact the ward. It took 21 hours from the mini arrived, until I was on the ward. Staff I initially spoke to did not seem sure about the system and so could not actually advise why everything was taking so long. I did later learn that I had to go through the same triage system as a patient who wasn’t expected. This put a lot of pressure on staff who were clearly run off their feet.
I came at 8:00 am in ambulance and after convicing/ the dr that my symptoms are of meningitis and asked him to start my treatment without any delay (as I am from the medical background), he started the treatment (I/V antibiotics) at 14:00 am (night). After 18 hours of arrival.
I have to fight to get the bed as I was in severe pain and vomiting and got it at 12:00 (midnight).after 16 hours of arrival.
Specialist dr saw me next day morning (9:30 am) after 25.5 hours of arrival. And treatment plan was discussed after that.
Extremely poor service and waiting time is unreal. I was admitted after that for week and I was having meningitis.
All fine but lucky it was a quiet time on a Sunday morning!
Even though the a and e department was extremely busy the staff were polite and friendly and the doctor who saw me was excellent it is a thankless job working in this department as you can’t please everyone but on my visit I was very pleased keep up the good work
The whole experience was appalling. I arrived at approx 11.30am and got home 13.5 hours later.
I was sent for a CT scan unprepared - no cannula fitted. When I arrived on a ward no-one, and I mean no-one, the nurse escorting me nor the nurses on the ward knew why I was there and firstly assumed I was being admitted before telling me I wasn’t despite actually not knowing why I was there.
I have decided with great pleasure to continue my treatment privately
Very good service and good Communication.
Thanks for all nuclear Medicine Staff.
