Very good allot better than my stay in this hospital.
It was very they made you very welcome very kind and clean. Even the ward male cleaner was kind.
Lovely staff, doctors and nurses listen to you , explain what needs to be done and give you choices. Pain relief is rapidly given. Spotlessly clean.
My experience in D2 ward was one of total satisfaction. The staff demonstarted all the qualities one would associate with a professional caring service.
Extremely professional and friendly service. There were waits but I expected that and brought a book to appointments. I would particularly like to commend Jan (I'm sorry I've forgotten her surname) who is a specialist nurse on D8. She was patient and explained every aspect of my treatment options to me and kept me updated.
F3 NURSING STAFF WITH A PATIENT OF 91 WHO WAS TERMINALLY ILL WITH LUNG CANCER, HAD SUFFERED TWO HEART ATTACKS AND A STOKE. WITHIN THE WARD WAS THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY AND SECRETIVNESS WITH REGARD TO THE PROCESS AND COMPLETION OF THE NHS CONTINUING HEALTH CARE CHECKLIST, PATIENT AND FAMILY MEMBER WAS ASKED TO SIGN A FORM FOR AN ASSESSMENT TO TAKE PLACE, A COPY WAS NOT GIVEN, AND THE FORM HAD NOT BEEN FILLED IN TO WHICH BLANK BOXES WERE FILLED AFTER BY NURSING STAFF WHILE AWAY FROM PATIENT AND FAMILY MEMBERS. NOT INFORMED OF A NHS CHC CHECKLIST THAT TOOK PLACE, WAS DENIED THE INVOLMENT OF THE CHECKLIST BY THE FAMILY, NO COPIES WERE GIVEN, THE DECISION WAS KEPT BACK FROM THE PATIENT OR FAMILY MEMBERS FOR THE NHS CHC FOR FULLY FUNDED CARE. DISCHARGED FROM F3 AS MEDICALLY FIT, ALTHOUGH PATIENT COULD NOT WEIGHT BEAR, FEED HERSELF SWALLOW DRINKS ETC HOSPITAL TRANSPORT STAFF WAS TOLD LADY PATIENT TOO POORLY, COLLECT FROM WARD, TWO MAN LIFT REQUIRED, BUT WAS SENT HOME TO HER RENTED FLAT WHERE SHE LIVED ALONE WITH AN INADEQUATE CARE PACKAGE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. FAMILY HAD TO FIND NURSING HOME DUE TO THE ABOVE POOR CARE PACKAGE, WHERE SHE DIED 12 WEEKS AFTER HER DISCHARGE FROM QA AND WAS ONLY THEN TOLD THE DECISION OF THE NHS CHC CHECKLIST THAT SHE WAS NOT ELIGIABLE FOR NHS CONTINUING HEALTH CARE, WHERE SHE WAS NOT EVEN REASSESSED EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD RAPIDLY DETERIORATED. FOUND OUT VIA COMPLAINT, MISLAID DOCUMENTS, OR NOT WRITTEN DOWN OR DOCUMENTED, NO CARE PLAN IN PATIENTS FILE OR ANYWHERE WITHIN THE HOSPITAL, NO RECORDED 'DECISION' OF NHS CHC CHECKLIST, NO RATIONALE OF DECISION RECORDED IN PATIENTS FILE OR ON NHS CHECKLIST COPY.
CEO, JULIE DAWES DIRECTOR OF NURSING, HEAD OF NURSING AND DEPUTY OF NURSING, ALTHOUGH ADMIT TO ERRORS AND MISTAKES BUT NOT LACK OF TRANSPARENCY, ADMIT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHY THE NURSING STAFF DID NOT CARRY OUT THE GUIDELINE AS SET BY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PROCESS AND COMPLETION OF THE NHS CHC CHECKLIST OR DECISION MAKING. A LOT OF ISSUES HERE THAT THE TRUST WILL NOT ANSWER TO.
