Although the care was generally ok. I found that sometimes I would request something and it wouldn’t appear. Maybe communication needs to improve. Some nurses were excellent others not so much. I find it odd being in for 5 days I was only asked once if I wanted a wash. I also fell whilst there and broke my wrist Breakfast was put in front of me but no help offered to open the jam or butter the toast etc. Some nurses don’t seem to notice what needs doing. I know that it’s difficult working in the nhs, but as a nurse you should be aware of patients individual needs. Aggie and Sue were brilliant The food was really bad. Breakfast was fine, but apart from that dreadful. Food was often cold vegetables really over cooked I opted for rice pudding one day Couldn’t eat it as it tasted of plastic. Again no one questioned why the food was left uneaten . There must be tons of food thrown away. When you’ve had surgery you need nutrition to build up again but the hospital food won’t provide that. Coffee was awful.
