Had right hip replacement under Mr Katevu on 21st May. NHS funded. My whole experience at this hospital from diagnosis to having surgery was faultless. I had a farly quick date through for 3 March but due to a tooth infection my op was cancelled and I was put on cancellation list which came through for 21st May. The communication from the hospital is first class and one the occasions I called and left a message there would always be a fairly quick call back and followed by text or email with the info I needed. Becaise of this I felt confident I was in the right hospital for my surgery. Day of admission I went to an anti room with my partner and saw the various medics who would be involved in my surgery and was put at ease by all of them and didnt feel I was about to have major surgery. I was having spinal bloc with sedation. The anaestetist and his two nurses chatted to me while he put in the cannulas and spinal bloc which again was fairly painless and I joked with him not to forget the sedation as I was still awake going into theatre but hey ho next thing I knew was in recovery and dying for a cup of tea. So next phase back in my room I shared with another 'hippie' and the night staff were amazing and were on call whenever you needed them or to.top up the meds. I was given a sandwich and a very welcome pot of tea and more tea later on all presented lovely. Next morning change of staff again all lovely nurses couldnt be more helpful and the physio came and I couldnt believe I was able to swing my leg off the bed and she helped me put my trainers on and I was able to weight bear and walk down the ward and climb the stairs 17 hours after surgery which physio was very impressed with. Had lunch and was dischsrged with pain meds around 3 pm and 9 days now post surgery I continue to get stronger and beem walking outside and going to supermarket today. A great experience so dont put off your hip surgery if you are worried

I have had an inital assessment appointment, which included x-rays. I felt respected and treated well by polite and friendly staff. My questions were answered thoughtfully and nothing seemed too much trouble. The hospital is bright, clean and tidy. My whole experience has been positive and much appreciated.

Felt it was inconvenient asking for some food for lunch ( just a simple sandwich)as late on morning surgical list and still in at 2 ish so was hungry.. just tea n biscuit not appropriate in this case. Theatre staff were very professional and kind,

Extremely happy with the treatment and care I have had at Pinehill, all the staff are just so friendly and helpful it made the process so easy. I feel lucky to have had my treatment at such a pleasant and caring hospital.

I was seen on time, car parking on site was more than adequate. Hospital not well sign posted from A602? from A1 northbound and sat nav took me to a residential address using website postcode. Luckily the householder gave good directions to the hospital from their house. Other than that, no suggestions!

Firstly my dissatisfaction; does not refer in any way to the staff at the sharp end in the operating theatre. They are fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As are the staff in after care eg physio. After care on the ward was abysmal. After 24 hours I called my husband to take me home as I did not feel save. I wrote to Pine Hill after my experience & received a full apology and some compensation. Food was excellent. This report refers to my second stay at this hospital for a full hip replacement. My previous stay 3 years ago was wonderful.
