I have used Nuffield previously many times but would not do so again. I needed a CT scan; the consultant indicated £300-£400. The reality was a quote for £879. I went to market and, eventually, was offered £385 by Harrogate NHS. When Nuffield agreed to price match I felt utterly violated: ripped off. They had tried to get as much money out of me as possible and it backfired leaving the brand disgracefully tarnished. I would NEVER recommend Nuffield again and, if I did need to use the service, it would be as a last resort, not a first. Even my consultant expressed surprise at the quotation.
