I have had nothing but help and kindness given cheerfully even though staff must be stretched with few caring for many. They still managed to seem as if they had all the time in the world for me. Thank you.

Review of Hospiscare - Inpatient Unit

Not as expected was told a few things at hospital but due to covid restrictions they weren’t actually true, mixed reactions but when approached staff today 12/8/22 very informative caring and helpful, mum looked well looked after.

Suggested improvements
Better communication with family before arrival and when settled in as we had not been explained any procedures and assumed same as hospital and kitchen and kettle facilities for guests.

Review of Hospiscare - Hospice at Home

The patient was treated with gentle care, dignity and had time explained what was happening with treatment, washing etc. The whole family were also treated with kindness, information on what was happening now and throughout the stage of death. There was an appropriate level of fun, calm and time, which made his and our time good together, talking etc and knowing he was not in pain.

Suggested improvements
We could not fault the care given to patient and family.

It’s impossible to fit the ward’s into this box- no words can fully describe the care mum received. The whole family were scooped up by the hospicare team and allowed us to relax and spend time with mum knowing she was pain free and calm.
