Review of Hospiscare - Day Care Unit written by a patient
22nd June 2014

Friendly approach any staff when arriveing offering refreshments choice of tabee games if you want to take part in them, we allso do a word serch puzzle from a newspaper which keeps our brains active. The day seems to go too quickly if we could stay a extra half hour would agree about it. Allso a trip out to a coastal resort in the summer.

So many kind action, I cannot enumerate all, but such a comfort in the most deficient time yet. As for the RDE inter department to complete superb treatment.

Good, many helpful and comforting discussion on the telephone with your staff member. Less good, the drop in tea. I made one visit. Useful to meet you staff. It is not so good as a place to compare exprinces with other patient's relatives. Not for me

The communication between all staff and myself was excellent.I was treated as an adult who required looking after for a while-not-as a patient to be dealt with. The friendly supportive atmosphere in emerging. I was kept informed and treated with respect at all time.

My mother is receiving pallative care and freddie from exmouth hospicare has been very supportive in coming to see her and in helping her to get home to be in her own bedroom which has meant so much to my mother. Freddie has also helped me by being very kind and listening to me and in her recommendation u take a break care + possible extra night sittings by macmillan nurse.

The care is excellent. Much more than just another cog in the wheel. Without your help, we would have been pulling our hair out, and continually chasing up for information, appointments and medicine. You are what keeps the wheel turning. Hilary especially is very professional in every way. Viv is also a great comfort, friendly and fun. A great back up.
