Good - Time taken to consult the patient.
- Caring attitude of nursing staff.
- Accommodating visitors and family members being with the patient..
Improved - Nothing.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for all involved. In my eyes, they are all heroes who made a potentially traumatic situation bearable - uplifting even I am so, so grateful.
My only observations - not at all a criticism - is that when both my mother and father approached "end of life". They were (naturally) surrounded by many nursing/care staff from NHS and private organisations I think this can be bewildering and distressing if time and effort is not sufficiently applied to explaining roles and co-ordinations. It was difficult for my brother and I to properly understand.
As early single point of contact could help explain and soo the, perhaps.
From the moment I arrived I was treated with dignity and respect.
All the staff were super friendly and super helpful.
The doctors were very kind and took their time to listen and explain about all the things they were doing.
The food was also great.
I do not think that anything needs improving.
Cannot fault the service in any way.
All nurses were very professional, informing us of all care and treatments and treated dad with kindness, dignity and respect.
Thank you all for your care and dedication.
Nurses, GP's, everyone!
Thank you.
Tiverton.
The personal care provided by the HCA home team was simply wonderful - they got mum; her humour, her mood and her needs to well to providing a vital support to me and other family members.
I think, if there is any confusion about family and friends complaining then its best to open and direct and honest best to open and direct and honest dialogue in order to ascertain the truth rather than assume that the main care given is the focus I would have benefited from this clarity, and so would mum, earlier in the process so that communication barriers were removed.
Explanations of how me specialist nurses feel they are doing their job and how much had requested weekly phone calls are not useful when her condition had deteriorated and required more than calls also I was a new comer to the process and would have benefited from some explanation about it, at my initial contact.
Special thanks to Rosemary and the HCA and team who renewed my faith in patient centred care and empathy.
Thank you.
Hospice care day unit.
The staff are very helpful and attentive.
They make sure things go smoothly. Also they make sure the patients integrate. Cannot think of any improvements needed.
My wife has been treated with the utmost care, courtesy of compassion from the nurses and other staff who are the backbone of Exmouth and Lympstone hospice care, everything they do is for the comfort of the patient and support for the family. The system in place is perfect and in no way can be improved in my opinion.
