I was recently at the Evelina hospital for a spinal fusion and I was at the savannah ward. It was absolutely amazing there I couldn’t have asked for better care, each nurse was compassionate about their work and made sure to make sure everything was okay and that my needs were met. The staff helped me a lot and made sure I was completely comfortable with getting up and walking again, they helped me do basic tasks and even comforted me at night when I felt anxious. I couldn’t of asked for better care everyone was lovely they checked up on me mentally as well as physically and the nurses also talked to me not just about the surgery and how I was feeling but about general subjects. I truly felt heard while being here and everyone cared and helped me so much they also helped my mum because she didn’t get a lot of sleep so they kept an eye on me while she rested. The night nurses were absolutely amazing I got nauseous and one of the nurses Ren made sure to help me and sit with me because I got pretty anxious, overall I think the nurses and treatments were amazing I had no problems and would recommend the Evelina to everyone. You are in safe hands and the nurses do care and will listen to support you and your health, thank you for looking after me.

We rushed our 13 months old baby in on the 27th December 2024. Everyone was so professional and we were seen asap. We were then told to return back the next 48 hours for a follow up. Upon arrival, our nurse “Marina” ensured that our Ru-Ru was at easy. She was very nurturing, she even sang with me just to calm my child down when he was in distressed. Thank you soo much, you made my day

Incompetence to the point of negligence. My daughter has been unwell for nearly one year and she was referred by her GP to the Children's Gastroenterology Department of Evelina Hospital run by consultants Dr. Mohamed Mutalib and Dr. Jochen Kammermeier. Six weeks ago I received a letter from the Children's Gastroenterology Department stating that they had been unable to reach me to make an appointment and that my daughter would be discharged from the service in fourteen days if I did not contact them. I had specifically stated that they should contact my number and not my wife's number as she cannot answer the phone during the day. I never, ever, received a call from Evelina. I later removed my wife's number just in case they were trying to phone her, but I still never received a call. I spent the next four weeks phoning every few days to try to make an appointment. Each time I was informed by the receptionists that they could not get through to anyone in that department! The said they would send them a high-priority email. This happened a full 11 times over four weeks! I repeat, 11 TIMES IN FOUR WEEKS. It is all in their call records. Each time I had to wait approximately 30 minutes on the phone to get through. I have recordings of every conversation with all the receptionists and the receptionists have confirmed to me that they can see the call records. The receptionists constantly emailed the team, the lead practitioner and even the above two consultants. All the receptionists I spoke to were shocked at the level of service being provided by this department. I even emailed department myself. I Never received a phone call or even a reply to my email. Today I received a text message from my daughter's GP stating that as my daughter had missed the appointment she had been discharged back to the GP. My daughter had never been given an appointment despite my best efforts to get her one so this is a blatant lie. How can a supposedly top children's hospital in London be so badly run? It beggars belief! It is beyond incompetence and it is actually negligence and I will be perusing this with the governing body, NHS England. This makes a mockery of the NHS values. Dr. Mohamed Mutalib and Dr. Jochen Kammermeier should hang their heads in shame at running such a sloppy and inefficient department and inflicting their incompetence on the children of London. Do the decent thing and move aside to let a more competent professional take over.

The members of the team involved in my sons procedure were helpful and very supportive. The Covid 19 situation had changed the whole system of treatment and surgery but all members of staff from nurses, doctors, surgeons and anaesthetists were fantastic and also allowing us ( the parents) to be able to be with our son through the procedure.

My 5 year old son was referred to Dr Garriboli for renal issues and had surgery just a few days ago at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London. We walked in the door and Leo was greeted by some lovely volunteers from “Spread a Smile” and had his own personal magic show complete with balloon animal! After waking up from surgery one of the first things my son said was “you know what, I actually really like it here!” All of the people dealing with Leo were lovely, professional and kind and made us feel welcome and at ease. We are so grateful to all involved for making what could have been an incredibly stressful and worrying situation for us so much better by their care. The nurses, anaesthetists, surgeons, play therapists, volunteers and everyone involved were outstanding and really helped Leo and ourselves in so many ways. We count ourselves lucky that we were referred there and will be forever grateful for the NHS and the wonderful people at Evelina Children’s Hospital.
