Review of Doncaster Urgent Treatment Centre

The department was very busy but the staff were all very calm and tried their best to keep it all moving.

I was referred to urgent care by 111 but when I arrived I was sent out yo A&E to register to then be sent back upto A&E! You are all on the same team so communication needs to be improved. Also then the Receptionist then proceeded to phone someone after I had been booked in and loudly explain what had happened ( she was worried she would get in trouble because it still had on the notes that I was waiting for a call back, when I had already had that call) whoever she was talking to must have asked her what the call notes said because she then read them out, very loudly so the entire waiting room could hear all of my symptoms. Totally unacceptable and fails patient confidentiality. It was very busy the night I attended and I do feel the staff even though immensely under pressure, did their absolute best to get patients seen as soon as they could.

The whole experience from A-Z was excellent. The doctor was also very kind, caring and professional.

Suggested improvements
There was a tiny bit longer waiting time, about 20-30 mins after arriving for the scheduled appointment at 10:15 pm,, but overall it was still acceptable as the Urgent Care Centre was busy anyway..

It's not fair I am working from Monday till Saturday all over UK. I don't have chance to go to see my GP. I try on the phone and I asked doctor to call me after 16:30 because I'm working and I don't have ability to answer. And everytime they calling me between 12 and 1400. I go to the hospital because I cannot see my GP and I want it my problem to be looked. Not to be treated with paracetamol. This is not fair

Suggested improvements
Try to find really my problem not maybe is this one or maybe is that one and take some paracetamol. I spent 3 hours waiting with hope that somebody can help me and tell me why I mean such a pain. It's not fair. I think people have to be asked are you working or not working if you're not working they can be seen in the time when people are at work. And try to accommodate people which working and paying taxes in the time convenient for them.

Wasn’t an overly positive experience. The waiting room was hot, lots of people not wearing masks. The 2 male clinicians kept banging doors going from room to room. A lack of care of compassion generally

Suggested improvements
The long wait times. I had an appointment booked and it took me over 2 hours to be seen. People came in after me who were seen over me.

Not sure if all information said to me was sent in a detail to my GP regarding what was spoken about in my consultation! I was told to ask for 2 week wait to urology but GP now saying not needed? Confusion as doctors are saying different things not sure if I should be concerned!
