The wait time for a call after contacting 111was 7 hours. The total time from emergency call to being seen was 11 and a half hours. However once we were at the urgent care centre it was excellent

thank goodness for same day doctors !
i had chronic ear ach snd i could not get a appointment even though i had been on the phone from 8:30 am.i visited the chemist but the pharmacisti told i needed to see a GP.
what has happened that we can’t get a Gp appointment!

I was very happy that I was given a face to face appointment to see a GP so quickly, however as an out of area patient, I got the feeling from the doctor I saw that it would have been preferable to contact my own surgery. I was really suffering with back pain and just needed some strong painkillers. I did follow the GPS advice and got in touch with my own surgery but this meant a delay of 3 days before I got the meds I needed.
Suggested improvements
On this occasion it would have been useful to have the option of a telephone consultation/ triage rather than a return journey of 16 miles.

The care and service couldn’t be faulted, I received an appointment within a few hours of calling, even though my situation wasn’t desperate. Efficient, smooth and perfectly pleasant. This service should be used more to relieve the pressure from GPs and the hospital

Very fast and prompt appointment called around 8.30am and had an appointment at 10am and was quickly seen and referred ESAC at DRI
