The staff in resuscitation where so lovely, I got dealt with quickly after a fall from a horse with all the right measures put in place, as soon as I got moved into a different treatment room, I had no one update me with my results or come to see if I needed anything until I pressed the button, I was left lying on my back for 4 hrs after my ct scan as they was waiting for a final report, even though the doctor in resus told me he checked over my results and they was okay and I would be able to sit up soon, didn’t expect to be sat there 4hrs still payed in my back, one of the nurses came to give me a bed pan so i could go to the toilet then as she was helping me get dressed she said how tiny my knickers wear which I don’t think is acceptable and quite rude, they also left me very uncomfortable for a long period of time, I have two metal roses in my back from a previous surgery and I cannot be payed in my back for too long as I stray to then feel the rodes, they just kept saying to take the pain relief given And didn’t seem to understand how uncomfortable I was, the last nurse that helped me was also lovely

As written above I felt like I was left too long not knowing and very uncomfortable

Midwifes and student midwife care was excellent. I was informed of all decisions and everyone took the time to explain things fully.

Discharge. Due to the time I gave birth I had to wait the next day for the Dr to perform the baby check. This didn't happen until 1pm, despite being informed it would be in the morning. We were then waiting around as the Dr did not print their records to be included in the notes I had to take home and it was nearly 3pm before we left to go home. As my labour was uneventful and both baby and I were well, I feel the discharge process should have been a lot more timely and streamlined for us. I suspect had it of been busier, we would have had a different experience.

I was unhappy with a and e on the Friday was given wrong I formation would off made more sense to just pass my name on then be sent straight to fracture clinic but no was told to go home.

Very well looked after and reassured by doctor and all staff and was told repeatedly that I had done the right thing by going to a and e which made a massive difference

Nothing very good staff and clean environment, I would complain if there were any issues but all care was spot on

Whilst I was in A&E a young man was escorted into the waiting area by a paramedic, he had been thrown out of a car. He was very ill and his friend went over multiple times to let reception staff know he was getting worse. They kept dismissing him telling the friend “the nurse knows he is here and he needs to wait his turn”. This man then started fitting on the floor of the waiting from vomiting everywhere crying out in pain. The care and compassion from the reception team in a&e is nonexistent. In addition to this as I was leaving there was an 78 year old man who had been in reception waiting for 2 hours as his treatment had finished. He had been brought in with a serious injury from a saw and had lost a lot of blood. He had no way of getting home, I offered to take the gentalman home and it was only after a nurse overheard this was transport arranged for him. Again the reception staff ignored him for 2 hours!

I arrived sick and confused and left with a diagnosis. I had a difficult diagnosis yet at all times was treated with respect and dignity. And better still, for me, I finally had some hope for the future.

It would have been better for some explanation when i left a&e to go to medical. I fully understood why, just didnt know what was going on at the time.
