i felt like we made progress in the areas i wanted to and i didnt feel patronised

i did initially feel like there was a reluctance to look into autism diagnosis we discussed (diagnosis not changing anything/long waiting list and unlikely to gain benefits etc) but it was something i did really want to look into and we did end up doing the aq-10 and a referral has been made. although a diagnosis doesnt change anything it can also be very validating and help you understand and accept yourself and your situation and i do wish that doing these tests and looking into diagnosis wasnt met with this sort of attitude (though this isn't something ive only experienced in your service but just the nhs in general)

I feel like I was just referred to alot of help which don't get me wrong is helpful but from someone that was struggling and still is struggling to cope with another of things and tasks to already do on his plate. Just being shown where I can go for help is not that helpful. If the practitioner could actually make the referrals for me it would have been a lot more helpful. However Timothy was very polite, kind, listened well and tried his best to help with the resources he had available.

Marcin was great. He made me feel that things will get better and has altered my medications which will hopefully help. He also gave me helpful information and signposted me to other helpful organisations, one of which has already been in touch.

All through the seven week period I found the health care people very compassionate and interested in all the participants, knowing their names and their particular needs
