The delay between discharge from hospital until the first appointment was distressing to say the least. I needed help with the first ten days not a month later. The damage was done by then. My mental health had deteriorated considerably and I was on the verge of severe depression. I coped with this by upping my current antidepressant medication but it was a most unpleasant and difficult few weeks.

It took me some time to get used to the nurse's style - he is quite direct and challenging, which tended to rile me up. After a few conversations I felt more used to it and found it less stressful.

I received messages on my phone that I could only access on my laptop as I don't have a smart phone. It would have been good to receive these by email, to save having to type in long website addresses.

I do not have a condition

I’ve always avoided therapy as the thought of it would scare me I felt it would be awkward or I was silly for going, that maybe I was not the ideal patient. The gp suggested speaking with Sharon so I went along. However speaking with Sharon was easy and made me realise I do need therapy and deserve to have it and I was relieved she could arrange this for me and I feel able to speak to someone about my problems rather than fear therapy.

I can honestly say I never believed anyone could help me. I’ve been on lustral for 5 years and have never felt so down and frustrated. After years of asking for help and constantly having increases from my gp which made me worse, Tina has helped me! The support, sympathy and care she gave me was exactly what everyone needs! I had regular communication making sure I was ok and the time she gave me was what everyone with mental health deserves! This lady deserves a medal! Pay rise even!!! Thank you so much Tina x
