Dr Millward was the first consultant to really listen to me. Unfortunately I have been told he cannot be my consultant - the nurses too are exemplary not like other hospitals so good care and attention.

About my care the best approach I've received today was the attention provided by Kerstin, the S.S.O. (Super Special One) occupational therapist. She helped me to put my racing thoughts in a piece of paper during our enjoyable walk :-). I wish that all the other staff at this hospital could be as supportive as Kerstin has been since the day I met her for the 1st time! I also wish that I could do activities such as basketball, football, volleyball, swimming, painting, drawing, coloring, creative writing and pamping much more often here and not only from Monday to Friday on during hours when we still can enjoy the daylight and sunshine if possible I want to help in the preparation of some arrangements for a meal out with all in a Karaoke pub.

I thank all the staff for looking after me and I felt they did a good job. I do feel though it would have been better if things had been explained better to me . I do understand that staff can be very busy.

For patients who are here for any length of time we need better storage or the wardrobe added with more shelves as it is a useless piece of furniture.
Or a chest of drawers put in.

I found the atmosphere on the ward quite oppressive and intimidating particularly to start with. This was due to the young age of most of the other patients and the issues they were being treated for. This was handled well by most of the staff. There were long periods of feeling very isolated and vulnerable. The OT sessions were difficult to start with for me but improved. Again the OT staff were very good in caring and trying to notice what would suite my recovery. The sessions should cover more time during the day especially the afternoons when there was nothing to do.
The ward staff were always very helpful, polite when asked although busy.
The sessions with doctors treating my condition were few and short and the doctors always seemed too busy.
