I found the atmosphere on the ward quite oppressive and intimidating particularly to start with. This was due to the young age of most of the other patients and the issues they were being treated for. This was handled well by most of the staff. There were long periods of feeling very isolated and vulnerable. The OT sessions were difficult to start with for me but improved. Again the OT staff were very good in caring and trying to notice what would suite my recovery. The sessions should cover more time during the day especially the afternoons when there was nothing to do. The ward staff were always very helpful, polite when asked although busy. The sessions with doctors treating my condition were few and short and the doctors always seemed too busy.
