Airedale General Hospital

I was treated by Carol Rathmell on ward 23 for catheter problems. I was filled with dread at the prospect but Carol was friendly, chatty and caring. She was able to settle my nerves and dealt with my treatment in a kind and gentle manner. I'm so glad to have been in her care today 24th Feb 2026.

I attended on Friday 6th February 2026, for Pacemaker replacement, I had enquired about the possibility of a sooner replacement because although my existing one had a potential battery life of three and a half years, I needed an MRI compatible unit for exploratory scan to my spine, I was so gtateful to be told that it was possible. On the day of admission I went to Ward 20 and from start to finish I could not have asked for a better experience, ALL staff, including the Surgeon and the guy who wheeled me to and from the operating room were beyong great, they were excellent, kind and caring. A big thank you to all!

I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff in A&E who treated me with nothing but kindness and care yesterday in a clean and calm area. I'm sorry that some of you experiences have been with other less deserving individuals who have treated you appallingly. They do not deserve access to your care and should be sent to a police station - although they already have their share of idiots. The first stage of getting back to health is care and kindness from others so thank you all. I would be happy to vet all A&E patients on entry and tell them none too politely to beggar off!!

The appointment was exactly as arranged and the help from the nursing staff was impeccable.

6 hours of outstanding care in ED. My mum had a fall at 91 and after trying to keep her out of hospital I took her to Airedale as her condition seemed to be deteriorating. We were immediately greeted by a competent receptionist and directed to a clean waiting room. From there the team were the most caring, professional people you could hope for. The porter, the physiotherapists, the x ray and scan staff were outstanding. The advanced practitioner (John/Jon) ensured her tests in every department were continuous and gave feedback at every available opportunity. When the results came back he discussed them with us and talked to my mum about everything even though she struggles with dementia. He did an overview of all her medication and took time to discuss her future. To have the combination of excellent knowledge and the ability to pass on to my old mum was a wonderful quality that isn't seen in many. This is my second visit in a year with being in with my grand daughter and both times outstanding.

I saw Nurse Came in the MSI reproductive department, she was incredibly down to earth and put me at ease quickly with her friendly manner. As well as this she was professional, quick and efficient during the procedure.

Attended an appointment on Tuesday 21;4;21 at the Ophthalmology clinic. Just wish to say thank you to all the staff i met ,really friendly, professional ,very impressed with the cleanliness and awareness to clean after each patient visit . .best wishes Patricia Haslam .

I had a repeated colonoscopy due to a family history of colon cancer. I cannot praise the staff enough. I was consulted throughout the procedure. I felt safe with regard to COVID restrictions. I was awake throughout the procedure and was included every step of the way and the consultant answered all of my questions. Each and every member of the nursing staff showed me kindness and compassion and still kept a sense of humour. I received comprehensive instructions before and after the procedure and was left wanting for nothing. What can l say, fantastic staff who l cannot praise enough, thank you.

I visited the D-Zone today and had an appointment with a nurse called Carrie, she is a credit to your team and made me feel so much at ease when I was feeling nervous. She’s a really amazing woman who’s brilliant at her job. Thank you Carrie your such a great person.
