Share review of West Calder Medical Practice
I have been a patient at West Calder Medical Practice since moving to Livingston in 2013. As there were no spaces at the local GP Practice, we were referred and accepted by West Calder. I have built an excellent relationship with staff at West Calder, particularly after diagnosis of a Primary Brain Tumour. I cannot fault the care and treatment I received.
I have found all the staff very helpful from Nurses/Receptionists/Medical Secretaries and GPs. I would single out Dr McIntyre for particular mention as he was the GP who I have seen most regularly recently. He never made me feel I was taking up too much time, he fully involving me in discussions about my treatment and always listened intently understanding my anxiety and fears. I no doubt took more than the allotted time - eating in to his lunch time or leaving time - but he never complained. In my opinion, West Calder provides a first class service and should be commended for this. I cannot compare it with other surgeries but would be surprised if there is a better one in Scotland for its all round care and treatment of its patients.
