I can understand why it takes time for appointments to be booked, but when I get to see my GP she really listens, is empathetic & makes positive suggestions to next steps needed.

Nothing I can think of, apart from help in expediting an orthopaedic referral.

I've been finding it impossible to get a non urgent appointment recently so went to Urgent Treatment Centre at hospital. They told me to go to my GP in 2 weeks. Was offered an appointment in a month so said I'd go back to the hospital. Then I got an appointment when I needed it. I don't feel happy that I needed to be so assertive to get seen.

You need to change the system for making appointments. It was much better a few years ago. Now the system relies on the patient to identify if the situation is urgent. I didn't think my problem needed an on the day appointment but knew I shouldn't wait 6 weeks which was what I was offered. It turned out that it was quite urgent as my leg was getting infected so it was a good job I went to the hospital & got it treated.
