10th December 2022

My appointment was 50mins late. The GP rushed through my concerns and said why don't I get a job? I can hardly walk, showed him photos of my injuries from blackouts and said go to hospital as may have broken bone in my hand. Said I'm in agony with my severe back pain and can't walk far n car broke n next appointment is 6th June. I can't pay my mortgage and can't work and can't claim benefits may be PIP. Brought urine sample to test as had 3 kidney infections recently. He said he's running really late and didn't have time to dipstick it which takes a minute (I'm a nurse), told me to ask reception to do it. Said he will prescribe extra Lanzoprazole and Naproxen but only prescribed Naproxen. Explained to him that Consultant said I have Fibromyalgia over the phone, so he said so it's not a proper diagnosis??? Not concerned about my blackouts, my chronic pain. Said Venleflaxine not working and he said come off them then. Didn't offer an alternative. Left my appointment in tears. Told him have been waiting for Cardiology appointment and Neurology appointment since September last year! Nothing....told me to walk hospital for x ray for my hand. Said I can't hardly walk and in agony just walking to appointment as car broke. Questioned my driving?? He was rushed, showed no empathy, no answers, waited for my prescription and he missed off Lanzoprazole. Cried all the way home and in too much back pain to walk to hospital. 100% absolutely awful and escalated my depression and anxiety and just felt like giving up. So went to bed and felt completely worthless and a burden to everyone. I'm a mental health nurse and felt so bad if this is how he treats his patients. I could go on and on, but just a summary. Sat at home now, had a blackout, not been out of my house since July on my own, my partner left me in October because of my illness, am devastated, but don't blame him. No empathy from the GP. Just stuck atm as no appointments scheduled, will probably lose my house and if that happens, my life also....Spoke to [name removed], Specialist helper, was amazing. (Dr [name removed] was the GP).
