I’ve had mainly bad experiences booking a telephone appointment. One morning the automated service said I was 4 th in the queue and then the surgery phone just cut off. I ended up calling 4 times to finally get through.
There should AJWAYS be 2 receptionists on duty. One morning whilst waiting to see the doctor the receptionist took 10 minutes to end a phone call because the patient at the other end couldn’t understand what the receptionist saying. The receptionist was so patient and and polite throughout.
Sometimes difficult to get answer to telephone
Very difficult to get an appointment and I have to wait a very long time for the phone to be answered. I usually give up and go to the surgery to make an appointment.
Diagnostics take a long time to organise.
The surgery arranged referrals for my needs when needed, and arranged flu jab when required. Doctors are friendly and co operative.
It’s very difficult to get through by telephone. Ok the last three occasions I have waited 5+ minutes on the phone. One of the times I waited 20 minutes on a ringing phone and got so desperate so actually went to the practice to be told by the receptionist she didn’t have time to answer the call as she was dealing with patients f2f. It sounded like the phone would just ring and patient have no idea it would never be answered. This is really unacceptable. At least have a voicemail or option of a call back when the receptionist is less busy. You obviously need more staff.
