Child booked in for blood tests at Sutton Benger surgery, in spite of GP surgeries apparently not doing children’s blood tests. It was a 50 minute round trip to attend this appointment - a complete waste of time, petrol and childcare (for other children). Appointment was at 10.30. Long text message cancelling appointment sent at 10.21 but this was not seen due to car journey. At the very least, a phone call could have been made as soon as it was discovered that this appointment had been made in error.

Suggested improvements
The appointment should not have been made in the first place. Once mistake was discovered, it should have been cancelled by phone call immediately, rather than wasting time sending a long text message.
