I really appreciate how quickly someone will see my 3 year old daughter when I call with a concern that may need attention. Ever since she was a newborn, I have found Park Surgery to be absolutely brilliant for making time to see her quickly when she needs it (which for a young child is pretty much always without any notice). Neither am I ever made to feel foolish for taking her in.

I have only been at Park Surgery since the beginning of September and have not made an appointment so I am unable to answer the question about making an appointment but I found it efficient and pleasant when I attended the Surgery. I tried to leave this section blank but had to answer.

Whilst it is very difficult to get in appointment in advance - often to see my own GP up to 3 weeks wait, once you get in then the staff are really brilliant, both nurses and doctors. It is very difficult when phoning the surgery, even in the afternoon as the phone just keeps ringing and is not picked up. If you require an emergency appointment whilst it is difficult to get through on the phone the receptionists do their very best to accommodate you.

My visit was for flu and shingles 'jabs'. All was fine -Lois the nurse, lovely. However in response to your question is it easy to get an appt at Park surgery the answer is MOST DEFINITELY NO. It is practically impossible to get through on the phone first thing in the morning, not always easy or appropriate to come down in person at 8.00am and we always wait for AGES for the phone to be answered at other times of day and generally there is not even an apology such as "Sorry to have kept you waiting." This morning a friend (who is a pt. at Park) had a sudden deterioration so she rang around 1.00pm to see if she could get an appt today. She tells me she hung on the phone for 20 minutes before it was answered. Happily she was offered a cancellation for this afternoon. The standard of receptionist has definitely improved this year but there are still some who are unhelpful, offhand and frequently pretend they haven't seen you when you are queuing. We have no problems at all with the GPs who are always helpful, patient and professional.

Difficult to get doctor appointments and often very difficult to get through on phone at 8am - have had to wait up to 30 minutes to get through - need more cover for this to work efficiently. The position you are in the queueing system on the phone needs to be heard more often - sometimes you are told and sometimes you are not at all - needs improving most definately. All the other interaction I have with the surgery works well, notably prescription ordering system and diabetic clinic. Blood tests is well organised although it is quicker to go to Horsham Hospital. There seems to be more doctors in the practice consequently the names board listing needs bringing right up to date. I have received a lot of help over the past 12 months from Dr Potiphar, Dr Holwell, Dr Tariq Jahanghir particularly and most recently Dr Bugden for which I am very grateful.
