I needed an urgent appointment for my handicapped son which was arranged and we were called by the doctor within five minutes of the scheduled time. Thank you.
The following responses are made in his name.
I can't fault your Phlebotomy dept. or your nurses and reception in general. But am amazed that when you ring up for an appointment to see your own doctor it is still a two week waiting list, or alternately as in the last situation I was told their are two appointments, one for next day and one the day after, but you need to ring up at 8am. the next day to secure one of these. Have you ever tried doing this and been stuck on the end of the phone for evermore on a queue listening to god awful music.
To be fair the service has improved over the last two months, but is still not good enough.
Pleasant atmosphere, receptionists are friendly. Auto check in gives you an idea how many people are in front of you. Text reminders for appts are helpful.
Suggested Improvements: - Availability of appointments
Daily drop in clinic 8 - 8
TV with subtitles in Waiting room
Access to water fountain in waiting room
I was lucky to get offered an appontmnt at the accute unit as I called early in the morning. The doctor I had was a locum (Dr Anderson) and she was very helpful, thorough and professional, giving me lots of info and advice on my illness. A few days later I was in pain and worried again about worsening symptoms so I went online and managed to pre-book an appointment within a few days with the system online service which I find very useful.
I have always found the receptionists helpful and polite and although appointments are hard to come by (particularly blood tests and pre-bookable appointments with your own doctor) you can usually get a general appointment by calling early or going online. I find the surgery clean, tidy and well organised and I love it that there is a pharmacy within the surgery. Parking is limited and this is one of the only negatives I have as there are so few spaces and you now have to pay £1.20 to park. Otherwise a great surgery.
It took me about two months to get a routine appointment despite a chronic health condition that necessitated immediate attention. I would not recommend this surgery with its current high number of patients and what seems like insufficient personnel to deal with those numbers.
