This place is a joke. Grossly mismanaged and extremely unhelpful.

Appointment availability is an issue. A different doctor every time, which means wasting time going over the history again. The issue that prompted this review though is nursing staff availability and the lack of appointments for the removal of surgical staples (quite a quick job) at the right time. I need staples removing from a wound at 14 days post-operatively, but there were no appointments available within a reasonable window around the 14-day point. I didn't fancy the choices - take them out early and risk the wound reopening; take them out later and delay recovery. It was suggested that I could go into Swindon's Carfax Street Surgery to have them removed instead (not a great option considering my current mobility limitations). I would have thought that for something like post-operative care, there would be better provision. So this is a disappointing lack of provision at New Court Surgery.

Booked to see the nurse and got a quick appointment. The consultation warranted a quick GP opinion which happened whilst I waited in the clinic, GP arrived within minutes, promptly diagnosed the problem and the nurse carried out the treatment on the spot. The whole appointment was no longer than 20 mins start to finish and the problem diagnosed and treated without the need for further appointments to see each individual element. And this was not anything too urgent - just a bit worrying. Surely that's the way it should work, pragmatism cutting through process and red tape.

It's hard to fault the service that you get from New Court whether from the receptionists or from the medial staff. We are extremely lucky to have them looking after us.

As a newly diagnosed diabetic (early 2014), my previous surgery left me isolated and I felt quite 'alone'. My move to New Court was easy and I have been able to quickly access the necessary expertise (specifically Sister Gaye Blackmore) to both help and put my mind at ease over my many questions/clarifications about the 'illness'.
