It is usually OK to get an appointment on the same day but only if you ring at 8 o'clock in the morning. So everyone rings at 8 o'clock in the morning making a bug que of calls
My appointment was done via text
It's hard to get to see a doctor because either there isn't any when I call at 8 in the morning or I can't get through because line is always busy
The nurse was on time this was done at the Pines surgery
Nightmare to arrange appointments. Hard to get through and appointments never available
Normally it is really difficult to get a appointment or even through to the surgery, especial if you work or have children to get to school. The call back system is occasionally in place and this makes it easier. The normal on hold music affects my mental health.
I have recently been very poorly and even then with a 111 call saying I needed an appointment I could not get one which meant a&e, a long wait, sent to the Springfield centre who prescribed antibiotics I couldn't take and then the wrong ones. This took a large amount of hospital and my time which should have been done at the doctors.
Often I do not bother going to the doctors and definitely don't follow up with the treatment.
This time the calling system was in place, I was called back really quickly just after 9am I think and an appointment was booked for a couple of days time which suited me perfectly. The difference this made to me mentally (and the associated physical symptoms of anxiety) was amazing. This is how it should be.
