My husband and I turned up for our blood tests that had been requested by Langham Place Surgery and had been booked well in advance. Receptionist then told us the appointments had been cancelled. She said that they had texted us to inform us of cancellation. Older people do not spend a lot of time looking at phones and therefore we didn’t see text. They texted at 9.00am on the morning of the tests. We suggested they phone next time. She told us it would take too long! Not as long as two disabled elderly people getting ready and getting to the surgery!

We could have received one phone call earlier. Also, maybe a note could be put against us to alert us by phone in future.

I didn’t attend as got the bus to my appointment checked my phone and it was cancelled half hour before I was due to be seen, was only for bloods had to wait a few weeks or more for appointment as it was and then cancelled at short notice so a wasted bus journey and money spent now having to wait over a week for another appointment

Have more than one staff that can do bloods I understand nurse/drs can’t help being sick etc but if there was more staff that could do the same then maybe they could squeeze you in even if you have a little wait especially as I already got to the drs before I see the text

It isn’t easy getting an appointment. This was a problem I’ve had for over 6wks now. I was due to have an appointment 4wks ago and that got downgraded to a phone call which then got downgraded to a text. I think got prescribed antibiotics that I didn’t need & made me feel worse. Now the infection I have got is worse because of the delays. Dr Cullen was very lovely and helpful though :)

Don’t loose the face to face appointments! Still needed.
