Ringing the surgery is hopeless. You can be calling codtantlyfo 30 minutes to an hour. This can go on for several days. When you do get through you have to wait several days for a telephone appointment! Then they triage you , Then they make an appointment to see the doctor ( which you new they would have to do ), This will be for two to threee weeks time! Not for any reason other than that’s how long before a doctor is free. So one often gives up trying to contact a doctor and try to treat yourself which is not a good idea or outcome! One waits until your condition is chronic hoping it had gone away or resolved itself, not a good idea, causing un necessary suffering. This time I booked an appointment via the NHS app. Great I booked one BUT it was not for 3 weeks as it was the earliest available . Meanwhile I treated myself and suffered distress and discomfort whilst waiting. The appointment Yes, with a doctor but only by phone. Whereupon he agreed to represcribe an ointment for my condition which I was unable to get other than from a doctor. I had run out 6 weeks before! I then asked the doctor for a face to face appointment and he was miraculously able to give me one for the Next Week ( amazing!). A very long drawn out process totally unnecessary!! What on Earth was the silly escort thing about. Never in my life have I had that nor do I see the point!
