When at the surgery the service is always good. But after the merger happened the attitude of some of the receptionists are disgusting. On several accusations I have been made to feel I need to earn the right to an appointment. I understand you have to explain to them why. When offered an appointment, I have asked if he can be later the response I got was “ do you want an appointment or not?” Another time I explained that the doctor told me I needed aspirin so I should go and buy it. When I get to the pharmacy they say they can’t sell it to me as I’m pregnant. So I phoned and said didn’t need to see a doctor just a not to a doc to say that I can’t buy it and can o have a prescription ( as wouldn’t want to waste an appointment that may be needed) the presence I got was “ I decided if I need an appointment or not” There has been many other occasions with comments like this. I now dread ringing the doctors, due to the attitude of some receptionist. The hospital told me I needed a complex dressing change every 2 days. After having surgery. He told me I would have to go to my doctors to have this done. I ring the surgery and I was told if they don’t have a slot to ring back again in the morning. I need it changed every 2 days due to infection risks. The anxiety I feel If I don’t get an appointment to have it changed runs the risk infection. More stress on top of my mental health and pregnancy.
