The phone lines, maybe give patients a timeline in which they can give their request, I know sounds silly but then others can get through and things get done quicker.

As with all surgeries in the pitifully underfunded time we live in, an actual GP appointment remains a mythical and unobtainable prize. However, a phone call from one is not impossible, I'm sure it rightfully depends on how close to death you are. The lovely nurses and pharmacy are always available reasonably quickly and are very helpful and caring. Reception staff are mostly helpful and cheerful, there are one or two exceptions. It may ages to creep up the endless telephone queue but you'll get there eventually. The town's population has increased massively but the facilities sadly have not.
