The staff are always friendly and helpful.
The call back service is not very convenient. A doctor will phone you back to speak to you first on the phone to see how best to proceed, whether an appointment is needed at the surgery or just a telephone consultation is sufficient. This is a good idea but in practise it is very difficult for me to have a private conversation in my work place. Perhaps being able to specify a time for a call back conversation might be helpful.
In the world of 24/7 I think a weekend surgery would be helpful, especially for people who work and the day of a named GP has gone.
This surgery has recently introduced a web-based contact system. I just used it for the first time and it works well.
I was able to schedule a next-day appointment with the doctor of my choice. The doctor phoned me within minutes of the expected time and after a short discussion was able to offer me a face-to-face appointment within 90 minutes.
I am very happy with this system.
My wife and I are foster carers and often have to register new arrivals in Teignmouth. The Reception Staff are always respectful and treat the children / young people with dignity and confidentiality. Recently one of our new arrivals wanted to stop smoking and the team at Channel View were really encouraging and supportive. The new system where a Doctor calls you back is much more convenient for us and the whole family have benefitted from telephone consultations without the need to go in to the surgery.
