Feel very lucky to have such great people running such a good surgery that is available when needed. Geoff
Good morning, thank you for your feedback! We will ensure this is passed back to all members of staff. Many thanks, Billingshurst Surgery
Gatekeeper receptionist - unhelpful and patronising.
Practice Manager - she was more interested in telling me about her issues than listening to me.
I suffer from a number of health conditions including heart failure and ischemic heart disease - I suffered a heart attack and a separate cardiac arrest in November 2018.
I am 61 years old so am fairly young to suffer from these conditions.
For the best part of the last week, I have had what I believed to be a heavy cold that I have dealt with via medications from the pharmacist.
Over the weekend, my condition worsened and I have developed a very nasty cough which leads me to believe that I may have a chest infection (I am coughing up yellow/green stuff)
During these coughing fits, I am getting very out of breath and anxious as I also get dizzy.
I have tried to book an appointment at Billingshurst Surgery but they are too busy - asking that I :
- call 111 and if I’m lucky, have a call with Locum (see later**)
- go to the chemist
- and /or drive 20 miles to a walk in centre.
Initially, I spoke with Lorraine who I found to be obstructive, non caring and patronising - I then had the misfortune of speaking to Judith Butler (the practice manager) who repeatedly told me that they were busy and under resourced (the surgery employ 9 GPs and only 3 are full time! The rest spend their other time as Locums milking the NHS and the system by charging higher pro rata rates! **IT’S A SCAM!!
I don’t bother calling my GP when I need help because they are never there when I need them.
Pathetic.

Was a smear test with nurse. Made appointment quickly and easily. Very efficient surface. Receptionist was also able to help with another matter - linking my son's NHS details to my app.
Ok when using e consult
I don't I find it easy to think of making an appt at the times when the surgery is open for making appts.
This confuses me more when I could send an e-consult at ANY time, but you could pick it up whenever was convenient to you.
Then I couldn't find the e-consult page.
But once I submitted I got given an appt quickly
Good morning, due to high demand the eConsult service is only available between 7.00 am and 10.00 am. These times were chosen as it allows patients to submit their request before work. The eConsult service is accessible via our website (https://www.billingshurstsurgery.co.uk/appointment-system.php) and selecting the blue eConsult banner at the top of the page or if you have the NHS app, via the "ask my GP for advice" section in the NHS app, I hope you find this helpful. Many thanks Billingshurst Surgery
