The receptionists at this surgery are rude. I’ve never phoned my doctors to be greeted by a happy voice, it’s been the same for approx a decade I’ve been with the practice. And having to wait up to two weeks for a phone call back from the doctor is disgusting.

I went in today and I think it has changed for the better. Was seen on time, the staff were great especially considering I got an appointment the day after I called and the man was so polite and chatty. When I first moved to Basingstoke the surgery was not in this state and I believe the change of hands has been so beneficial for this surgery. It can only go up from here!

It's such a shame that this surgery is so bad. It takes ages to get through and because of the different doctors and specialist nurses you do not have any continuity. I have waiting 13 days for a test result to be told the nurse had not put it through correctly so they could not access the information. I would never recommend the surgery. Also the fact that it is only telephone consultations before you get an appointment is really impractical. The receptionists have always been very polite and caring.

When are they going to sort this Surgery out. Their website states you can have pre-arranged appointments AND wef from 14 Jan 19 you have to ring up and then get a call back. What is the point in having a telephone consultation and then the Dr deciding they want to see you. I have a long term condition and the hospital wrote a letter to the surgery saying I needed a change of medication. When I finally got to speak with the Dr on the phone, they were just going to change this without seeing me and checking blood pressie etc. You have to call before 0830 to have your name etc added to the call back list. If you phone after 0900 they tell you to ring back the next day. Chaos!!! When the Dr called back he left a voicemail (I was in the shower) telling me to call him back. When I did this, the receptionist told me in a very blunt manner that Dr's will only call you once and if you miss the call you have to call back the next day to try and make another telephone appointment. How a Dr can conduct a thorough consultation without seeing you in person is beyond comprehension. GP's are there for non emergency things but you are made to feel that unless it is an emergency then you won't hear from the Dr. If I had an emergency I would be going to hospital. No wonder people overuse the Ambulance and A&E services. Dreadful state of affairs.

Surgery doesn't offer appointments you have to ring on the day and hope for a call back. The doctors often seem uninterested and sometimes go as far as berating you for booking an appointment. Have never known a doctor's like it.
