I was told that the appointment was at 10.45, I arrived at the practice at 10.40. After 30 minutes waiting I was told that the Doctor was not receiving me because I arrived over 15 min late. They were claiming that the appointment was at 10.30. This costed one day off from work.

While the secretary was extremely helpful I have to say my experience to gain a referral letter was very stressful. First of all the doctor I saw laughed when i explained that I had already seen a specialist and was only looking for a referral letter so i could continue treatment on my Private Medical insurance. He wanted to arrange a steroid injection that would only help with the pain and not actually tackle my issue. After agreeing that I would pay for said letter I was told it would be ready the next working day. The secretary was extremely helpful and informed me when it was ready. Upon collection and asking for a receipt I was told they didn't have any new receipt books so would have to have a compliment slip. This was not good enough for me to claim back. I then asked if medical records were updated when referrals were made. I was told to speak with the secretary. So I had to call whilst there at the doctors, instead of the receptionist offering to find out for me. So all in all I am still waiting for my letter to continue treatment and still waiting to pay for the privilege. Needless to say this particular visit has not been reassuring for me with my new doctors.
